Rescuedog Water Training

Today it was showdown for watertraining. 8:00 am meetingpoint somewhere in Burgenland. More than 13 rescue-dogs participated. The weather was hot and we had lukewarm water. Depending on the level of the dogs we did surfboard training, pulling someone out of the water, bringing the life buoy to the victim and pulling it out, distance swimming and pulling a life-boat to the shore.

We have 3 puppies in the group and for all of them it was the first training in water. Linux and I were having fun and less training, as I wasn’t in the best mood today. Oni did a real good job. He jumped from the gangplant and he swam real far, thats a lot for a dog who could’t swim as I got him from the shelter. He always has a hard time keeping the long and heavy body over water with his short legs.

We also had a super break with banana-sponge cake from M. Lots of radler (beer and limonade mix), and bread with all kinds of sausage and cheese.

Later on we drove off, as the shore got full with other dogs and people and a thundersturm was building up.

Thanks to all who were training and helping us and our dogs it was a successfull training.

399.999,9 km

Our Lite Ace made the 399.999,9 km today! Thats for showing, it actually has more kilometers on, as the speedometer  was broken for some time and did not count up.

I have to admit that I love this car. It is more than practical, sleeping in the car is no problem. With 9-10 l / 100 km it does not use too much gas, compared with the other (newer) vans around. And most importantly it fits in most parking lots that look way too small, as it is quite compact and has a very small steering angle.

It has made our France Holiday with us, went to most parts of Austria, and keeps my dogs save and locked up during training.

Too much to do…

At the moment I have a lot of work and learning to do.  Nevertheless I try to make lots of walks. Sunday we first had a walk on Schafberg, a little hill in the Viennese woods, where Linux enjoyed playing with the autumn leaves and then we took a night walk (it was already dark, not really night) to Wienerberg, another hill in the middle of the 10th district, to make some photos of iluminated buildings around. Lets say K took photos and I went playing with Linux…

The rest of the day was work, work and learn…

Today was bright sunshine in Gaming. It is autumn now. The leaves are turning their color to red and brown.

Gaming

There has been a lot going on in my life since August. I have a new job which took most of my time over the last 2 months. Except for walking the dogs and sleeping there was not much time left.

Innfahrt

Nach einer doch eher turbulenten Fahrt, bin ich jetzt mit 4 Hünden und Ratte in Schärding. Alle 4 sind sehr pflegeleicht, vielleicht sind die Mädels ein wenig keiffiger drauf als meine 2 Rüben…aber sonst alles gemütlich.

Mittags gabs frische Forellen. Es gibt hier in der Nähe nämlich ein kleines Lokal im Wald bei Fischzuchtteichen.

Gelsenplage

Nicht nur im Wienerwald und in den Wiener Auen plagen mich derzeit die Gelsen. Als beste Gelsenabwehr für alle anderen, denn ich bin ihr Wunschopfer, schaue ich derzeit aus wie die Bucklige Welt. Ein Dippel neben dem anderen. *kratz*

Zurück in Schärding

Nachdem es in Wien die letzten Tage doch schon unerträglich heiß wurde bin ich nach Schärding geflohen ;-). Klarerweise hat das Wetter nach meiner Ankunft gleich umgeschlagen (nicht wieder erwarten, da der Wetterbericht ja sowieso Regen vorausgesagt hatte). Freitags etwas später am Abend kam ich an. Ab 4 in der Früh gab es Sturm und Schüttregen. Das weiß ich deshalb so genau, weil Oni mich, offensichtlich beunruhigt über den Sturm, als Trampolin verwendete. Da habe ich ihn nochmal in den Garten raus gelassen. Das war um 4:00 in der Früh – *gäähn*.
